You would drop one VSP file behind the other, just like adding additional clips and photos. Be advised that you need to have enough tracks opened up when you do this. Now all you need to do is drag and drop a VSP file onto the timeline. However this time navigate to your Saved VSP files (VideoStudio Project). To do this start a new project, then go to the Media Library and choose to insert media, just like inserting photos or video clips. I haven't tried this in a long time, several versions ago, but it used to be you could "nest" projects in another project. Then close VS, go back to Fast Flick, select another template, choose the Open in VS option. Once in VS, save your project, which is a VSP file. What you need to do, and I do believe you are already, in Fast Flick, choose the Open in VS option. With that said, if you really want to keep working the way you are, you can sort of. It's not as automated as Fast Flick, more work involved, but since your going about your production the way you are, I think you would be better off just starting in VS. You drag and drop your image or video clips while holding down the Control key, to one of these place holder clips. The templates will have placeholders with numbers on them. It looks like a magic wand with a star on it.

Click on the 2nd from the top icon on the toolbar between the Preview window and Library.

Overlay tracks are also used to insert video while keeping the audio from the main track.

You can also use an overlay clip to create a picture-within-a-picture effect, or to add a lower third, which can make your movie production look more professional. First have you looked at the Templates in VS? Most that Fast Flick uses are also found in VS. This allows you to add overlay clips to combine with your videos in the Video Track.
